Task 2: Languages' disappearance

Question

Every year several languages die out. Some people think that this is not important because life will be easier if there are fewer languages in the world.

To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?

Many people think that the disappearance of many languages recent years is a relevant phenomenon due to it makes life easier. I completely disagree with this view, I firmly believe that all languages would have an important role in human history and worthily be kept existing in the future.

On the one hand, languages bring in many moral values and some benefits. Firstly, preserving a language is likely to keep a tribe alive since it is used as a tool to communicate between people in the tribe and expresses the tribe’s tradition. It makes the chance to children learn about their ancestor’s history; therefore, they will understand their tribe’s tradition more deeply and memorize their ancestor. Secondly, the existence of a language leads the historian to understand all information about the culture and history line more easily through several ancient documents written by the language’s characters, as a result, it helps record human history fully and this tribe would be never forgotten. Finally, linguists would have many opportunities to analyze the language; therefore, they would discover the way this language had been built and may improve this language in the future.

On the other hand, the disappearance of a language could lead to a few positive consequences. Less languages are existent, less language we have to learn to communicate. People don’t have to learn a new language from beginning to communicate with other people, as a result, people around the world more likely united. English is a prime example since it has been the common language that every people should know whenever they want to talk with a foreign person.

 

In conclusion, every languages should be kept in history line because of their practical values.
