Education should be accessible to people of all economic backgrounds. All levels of education, from primary school to tertiary school should be free. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

It is believed that people of all status should be allowed to access entire levels of education freely. While free-charge education has some benefits, I would argue that this policy may affect some social aspects.

On the one hand, students from low-income families may take advantage of this kind of study. Nowadays, many parents can not afford for their children to pay the school fees, for that reason, they have to drop out and find a job without any educational qualifications. Plenty of diligent and intelligent children cannot approach orthodox education to show their talent, leading to the brain drain in our society. In other words, if there is no school admission change for everyone, people can enhance their knowledge which results in equality regardless of social stages.

On the other hand, funding and spending for education will be restricted. When missing the investment from the community, the governments have to increase their budget for education which leads to a financial burden, particularly in third-world and developing countries. Consequently, some countries have freed tuition from elementary to high school and still keep high fees in the university, in Europe, for instance. Moreover, the quality of infrastructure and training will be negatively impacted. Schools will not have enough budget to update facilities and recruit good teachers. Also, too many students may be overloaded for educators to manage.

To sum up, besides the pros and cons of free education, governments should consider financially supporting groups of institutions that are in need.
