The use of alternative sources of energy, including wind and solar power, however, is being encouraged in many countries. Is this a positive or negative development?

In the few centuries, fossil fuel using led to pollution and running out of energy resources. Fortunately, a solution is clean energy, but that way brings a lot challenges for the human.

To begin with, the use of alternative sources of energy has some disadvantages. If the fossil industry changes to renewable energy, we'll need to invest in high technology. That expense makes the heavy financial burden especially, in the developing and poor countries. For instance, the initial installation expend for solar panel system or windmill is expensive. In addition, renewable energy significantly relies on the weather. The alternative resources always come from natural phenomena such as wind, sunshine, tide,…If it is not a windy day, wind turbines will not turn and generate electricity.

However, the shift toward using clean energy will bring long-term value in the future. Firstly, alternative energy will reduce the emission of CO2 and other types of pollution gases which cause the greenhouse effects and global warming. Reducing fossil fuels restricts air pollution that has killed over 10 million people each year. Secondly, fossil fuels are a finite resource, which means this resource is unrenewable and will deplete in the future. On the other hand, clean energy also comes from natural processes such as wind, solar and wave power they are constantly replenished. For example, solar energy that comes from sunshine is an unrestricted (unlimited) source, because the sun will never disappear.

On the whole, I believe all countries should be aware harm of resources from fossil fuels and change attitude about alternative energy soon. Clean energy is key to help the world is more sustainable
