Human beings have used fossil fuel as the first choice of energy. The more advanced science has become, the more alternatives of the source have been discovered. However, energy sources most likely, in my opinion, have their pros and cons.
The advantages of using them are beyond our thoughts. We have more choices, which can probably reduce high cost of unique kind of power. Moreover, having many choices also means having more levels of price. This helps some developing country with low economic status choose an appropriate source. The second benefit is about an environmental aspect. Fossil fuel is non-renewable, which means it will run out and will not be replenished. Furthermore, the main chemical in the fuel is carbon. It would turn into a harmful gas emitted to our environment. Meanwhile, because other source of energy are renewable and healthy such as water, sunlight, wind and more, to take advantage of them is an incredible step of humankind.
In the other hand, hardly ever are all kinds of power healthy. Some of them needs to be operated under professionals in the industry. Otherwise, they would result in not only polluted environment but also collapse of a city. In Japan, the explosion of a nuclear power factory has destroyed a whole city and poisoned the air for years. The area is still unable to live these days. As that exampled situation, nuclear source is far more dangerous than an atomic bomb so that we can use it in a careless way. Therefore, we must consider negative outcomes before deciding to use an alternative.
To sum up, everything is both advantageous and disadvantageous, so is energy sources. We had better take all positives and negatives into consideration and prepare for any harmful effects of the power. Fortunately, as long as science still develops, almost all problems will be solved.
