Living in a country where you have to speak a foreign language can cause serious social problems, as well as practical problems. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

Nowadays, the development of transportation and technology makes immigration become popular. Consequently, many people live in a country where the language is not their native language. Some people claim that these immigrants can suffer serious troubles which cause from the nonprofessional language. However, I totally disagree with this ideas and believe that some inconvenient issues may occur instead of those serious problems.

Firstly, there are many other language except verbal language, such as body language. In daily communication, people usually try to understand the others. Therefore, not only speech but also gesture is used. For example, in a noisy place as a coffee shop, the customer may need to use gesture in order to call a waitress . In addition, although some inconveniences, the mutes can live and work as normal people in many countries.

Secondly, language ability can be developed. Many troubles and problems may occur in very first year. However, the rate of these troubles will experience a significantly decrease in several years later. In fact, there are a large number of oversea students increase their IELTS score remarkably after 4 years of oversea study.  The rate of social and practical problems is inversely proportional to level of language ability.

In conclusion, living in a foreign country and speaking a foreign language may cause many social and practical issue, from culture shock to homesick. However, I believe in human adaptability and claim that, people only suffer some inconveniences in a short time and get over easily, instead of facing any serious problems.
