The table illustrates the percentages of categories of the poor houses living in Australia in 1999.

According to the table, the needly families accounted for 11% of families in Australia. Meanwhile, the sole parents were the highest figure among the six categories of family. And the lowest proportion,4%, belonged to age couple.

As can be seen from the table, the rate of sole parent had highest 21% (232000) people. Similarly, the amount of people in the single and no children was significantly higher than the rate of couple with children 19% and 12% respectively. Compared with couple with children, single age person which was a half, and made up 4% of the group. While, the proportion of the residents from couple and no children was 7%. In contract, the data of aged couple represented the lowest one. Finally, the rate of all households provided 11 percent of the whole in 1999.
