Question

Some people think that it is best to live in a horizontal city while others think of a vertical city. Discuss both view and give your opinion.

There is a debate about whether living in a horizontal city or a vertical city is better. While living lower to the ground has some benefits for residents, I would argue that living in the city with high buildings is a better option.

On the one hand, it is beneficial for inhabitants to live in the private houses base on financial and safety factors. Firstly, they may not pay any fee for building services, such as management fee or guard fee. Therefore, they would save a lot of money to spend on other things. Secondly, living in lower to the ground would make people feel more safety. For instance, if there was an earthquake or a fire, they could run quickly out their homes and it took a fewer time to find a safe place.

However, it seems to me that, living in the city with skyscrapers is the best choice. The main reason is that people living in high buildings may use many convenient services, such as education, health care, entertainments. So that, people may save much travel time for daily activities such as taking children go to school or go shopping or go to gym. Furthermore, in the city having a large number of tall buildings, the public space will be widened significantly due to less private lands. Consequently, authorities may build more schools, parks, hospitals, roads to service citizens. As a result, the living standard of citizens will be improved markedly.

In conclusion, although living in a horizontal city has some advantages, but follow me, living in a vertical city is the best choice for residents.
