At the present time, the population of some countries includes a relatively large number of young adults, compared with the number of older people. Do the advantages of this situation outweigh the disadvantages?
Nowadays, there are the unequal distribution in the population of various nations around the world in which the number of the young generation outnumbers that of the elderly people. Although this situation has brought numerous benefits to each country, there are still some drawbacks that need taking into consideration.
To embark on, it is inevitable that the more young adults a country has, the more chance of being prosperous it stands as they will be the major workforce that will boost the economy and improve the standard of living in the society. Consequently, substantial number of youngsters will provide a growing market for the manufactured products owing to their token resistance to the temptation of purchasing items. For instance, they are the potential customers for electronic devices such as computers, smartphones,… Moreover, the young generation will also provides a enormous tax base for its nation, which then will be used to improve the quality of the inhabitants’ lives.
On the other hand, having an enormous number of young adults can place a tremendous strain on the Government. First of all, not only will there be the shortage of educational and healthcare services but also lack of jobs, food supplies and accommodation availabilites. Therefore, the unemployed and homeless can resort to crime to have the essential money to get by, this will resulted in the increase in the act of violence, which will do harm not only to each person but also to the whole society. Secondly, as young people do not have ample experience to deal with problems in the most reasonable way, there may be adverse consequences in the future due to their ways of coming up with the solution. Thirdly, the money which is used to support the family since a child was born until it is fully grown up is enormous, hence the Government will endure immense hardship of raising children.
All things considered, there is no doubt that a population which consists mostly of young adults is beneficial to a country. However, in my perspective, a balanced population proportion could be more feasible and viable for any nation.
