The diagram illustrates the steps and equipment involved in the production of sugar form sugar cane.
Overall, there are seven main stages in the process of making sugar, beginning with planting sugar canes and ending with dried and cooled sugar which is available to use.
In the first step of the process, the sugar canes are farmed and after 12 to 18 months, they are collected by a mower machine or human physical strength with the help of sickles. After that, there is a transformation from harvested sugar canes into liquid form called juice. Once crushing has finished, filtering juice by a limestone filter is able to start to remove any impurities.
In the next stage of the process, the purified juice is condensed by heating up to convert into syrup that using a evaporator. Following this, the syrup is poured into a centrifuge in order to sort to sugar crystals. Finally, the sugar is obtained by drying and cooling these crystals.
