The graph indicates how many percentages were mentioned of the population aged 65 and over between 1940 and 2040 in three different countries.

 Generally, the proportion of the population in all countries increased until 2040, however, that was in Japan saw a slightly decreased upward trend in the early years. In addition, the population in the USA had proportioned more than the others in 1940 and in the last year, the percentage of the population was the highest in Japan.

 From 1940 to 1980, to begin with, the proportion of the population in the USA grew up by 6% and was the most countries. Moreover, there was a steady increase in the percentage of the population in Sweden by half from 7 to 14 percent. Nevertheless, the lowest proportion during the period was in Japan that gradually declined to 3% and remained unchanged.

 In the next 3 years,  the proportion of the population in the USA raised reach to 23%, and that was increasingly extended to 25% in Sweden. Especially, the population in Japan experienced a most significant climb from 4 to 27 percent.
