It is true that many people argue that youngsters's independent access to their neighborhood streets is significant for their individual, mental, and psychological growth. Personally, I completely agree with this view for both positive and negative reasons.

There are two main positive reason to enhance children’s knowledge. Firstly, allowing them to become acquainted with their own neighborhood and community has opened the door to make friends, talk to the neighbors. For example, when their parents are not at home, they may need help of their neighbors before their parents get home in case of an emergency. Secondly, it is essential for youngsters to get used to walking, cycling, skateboarding and taking the bus to schools with their classmates without the assistance of their parents. They will have a clearer perspective of both sides of the road, it's not a view of a passenger in cars. They can not only expand their traffic skills through reality situations, but also make a lot of lovely memories with their besties.

By contrast, there are negative aspects of the additional traffic generated by carrying children leads to high traffic volumes, pollution and the chance of an accident. The frequent occurrence of  dense traffic in rush hours during school vacations or near schools at the end of a school day puts city dwellers in great danger. That is so complicated to control the traffic. Another factor is is that the more private vehicles they have to pick up their children ( such as car, motorbike), the more hazardous gas emissions are being released into the atmosphere, contributing to air pollution and worsen global warming.

In conclusion, for both positive and negative reasons, I strongly believe that children's independent access to their local streets are play an important role for their own personal, mental and psychological development.
