The line graph shows the percentage of smoking in Someland of male and female from 1960 to 2000.

Looking at the graph, it is immediately obvious that the proportion of male smokers was the most significant change in its total rate of men was by far higher than women.

In 1960, 600 men per 1000 people were smoking. This number declined steadily to 500 in 1975. In contrast, the rate of smoking in women was very low, at just 90 per 1000 people, and increased considerably to about 300 people in 1975.

The period from 1975 to 2000 witnessed a substantial decrease in the rate of male smokers, with nearly 250 people per 1000. However, the figure for females fell slightly to 300 people per 1000.
