The graph below shows the proportion of the population aged 65 and over between 1940 and 2040 in three different countries.

--------
The line graph compares three different nations in terms of the percentage of senior citizens, over a course of 100 years, starting in 1940.

From an overall perspective, it is patently obvious that the proportion of aged people in the Us and Sweden show an upward trend whereas a reserve pattern can be observed in the figure for Japan during the first 40 years.

In the beginning year, that was in 1940, the USA registered the highest percentage of elderly people, about nine percent. people who are over 65 years old in Sweden and Japan accounted for the lower number, at precisely seven percent and five percent respectively.

Between 1940 to 2020, Sweden's aging population increased by nearly 13%, and Sweden is likely to reach a peak of approximately 25% by the year 2040. Similarly, there was also a steady rise in the figure for the Us, senior citizens in 2040 are predicted to triple their initial figure. By contrast, the period from 1940 to 1980 witnessed a marginal decline in the number of old Japanese, to only 3% in around 1980. After that, this figure rose steadily and is forecasted to overtake both Sweden and the USA to become the country with the highest percentage of the aging population.
