The graph illustrates the most popular film genres among men and women and also shows the box-office takings of those in the USA in 2010.

Overall, it can clearly be seen that the action genre has the far more popularity among both men and women than the other types. Hence, obviously the action films were those who made the most money, the figure takes almost half the pie chart.

According to the chart, 40% men were keen on action movies while only 25% women did. While the figure of action ranked the first among men and the second among women, one of romantic comedy was the most popular with women with 30% but the lowest with men (only about 5%). Another interesting point is that comedy and western held the same popularity among both genders with respectively 20% and 10%. Thriller and science fiction movies are a bit more popular among men than women but in general, science fiction films have the lowest number of film viewers.

Looking at the pie chart, what stands out from the chart is the largest portion of action movies which takes up almost half of the graph. Besides, comedy films are the second most lucrative with 24%. The box offices of romantic comedy and thriller films were almost the same at around 11% while all other movie genres contributed only 5% ticket sales in 2010.
