IELTS Task 2: It is more important for schoolchildren to learn abt local histrory than world histrory. To what extent to you agree or disagree?

It is true that many people value the importance of local history more than that of world history. In my opinion, this problem could have both negative and positive consequences in equal measure.

On the one hand, I accept that learning history of their own country is a compulsory part of students' curriculum at school. Actually, while students have thorough insights intro their indigenous history, it will enhance their patriotism. For instance, children who go to primary and secondary school are taught how their ancestors had fighted to reclaim the sovereignty and bring stability to their country. Thus, they always take pride in their origin as well as appreciate traditional values and identity because they understand the cost of the peace.

On the other hand, it is also unreasonable to criticize that world history brings no relevant values to the present or future. Learning about events happend in the past of other regions gives teenage offspring a well-rounded perspective of life. In addition, there are many students who find international history attractive and they can have a broad view of history in the country and other places.

In conclusion, I believe the significance of indigenous and worldwide history cannot be brought into comparison to see which one is more essential because they have their own effects on individuals.

I think the thesis statement: " this problem could have both negative and positive consequences in equal measure. " does not really suitable in this case. The question was about "agree or disagree" so you should answer it properly. E.g: "I'm convinced by neither" or " I do not totally agree with either of these".

In addition, I think you should prepare your ideas more carefully. You should have 2 ideas each paragraph
