Topic: In some countries, many more people choose to live alone nowadays than in the past. Do you think this is a positive or negative development?

In recent years, living alone has becomed popular, particularly in large cities in developed countries. In my opinion, this trendcould have both positive and negative consequences.

On the one hand, people opt for living alone because of its freedom. They feel free and comfortable; also, they can do anything they like. For example, they can take care of their life on their own way without paying attention to their parents’ attitudes. As a result, these people are really self-made with a self-reliant life. Besides, for economic reasons, one-person households have less stresses about the finance. The money spent on life’s needs is less than in other families, for example, these people do not have to spend amount of money on children’ education and children’ healthcare.

However, those people living alone have to face the lonely feelings sometimes. When the life is not good to them, or they have something sad, they feel alone and bored; also, they have no relatives staying by their side. For instance, if people have stresses in jobs or have some difficulties, they maybe feel better when they get home with the encouragement for their family and children’ smile, which do not have in one-person households. Moreover, people living alone can not always take care of themselve, especially when getting sick. By contrast, whenever a member in family is sick, the other members will be always next to him/her to look after until better.

In conclusion, living alone has a balance on advantages and disadvantages; therefore, people should consider and think carefully to decide a suitable living way for themselves.

On the one hand (not used contrast and contrary phrase to start your paragraph) First, people opt for living alone because of its freedom.

By contrast, whenever a member in family is sick, the other members will be always next to him/her to look after until recover.

In conclusion, living alone has a balance on advantages and disadvantages; therefore, people should consider and think carefully to decide a suitable living way for themselves.
