Today the high sales of popular consumer goods reflect the power of advertising and not the real needs of the society in which they are sold. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Nowadays, many poeple believe the hight rate of selling goods bases on the power of advertising, not the requirements of consumers. I partly agree to that idea. I think both advertisement and the needs of consumers affect the increase of selling goods.

In recent years, advertising commercial has developed strongly in order to encourage citizens to buy products. Not only do people see advertisements in magazines but also on television, internet, or in films which is called product placement. With smooth sentences, it may have great impacts on consumer's thinkings. They may be convinced to purchase that kind of goods.

Howerver, advertisements will be no use if they can not meet the citizen's needs or the consumers are not able to afford that products. For instance, one person has seen thousands of advertisements about fast food. Unfortunately, he is not quite interested in those things. Morever, with low income people, for sure they can not make a purchase luxury items such as cars, jewelleries, smartphones. To that end, these poeple will not take their time to watch those advertisements.

In conclusion, it seems to me that the consumers choose to buy products not only because of the power of advertisement commercial, but also because of people'needs.
