The chart shows the seven years spent by the UK residents on different call types between 1995 and 2002

Overall, the local-fixed line calls were the most popular type of three ones, and the figure for mobile calls was the lowest number which was the most dramatic rise.

In 1995, the UK dwellers used local-fixed line calls more than 70 billion minutes, and about half of that time for national and international local-fixed line calls. By contrast, the amount of time for mobiles was just less than 5 billion minutes, and in the following four years, all three types gradually increased.

By 1999, the figure for local-fixed line calls reached a peak at 90 billion minutes and decreased subsequently. The number of time for national-international and mobile ones were 50 and 12 billion minutes respectively, and both of them were trending upwards. In 2002, 70 billion minutes were spent on local calls. While the figure of international and national calls passed 60 billion minutes and the minutes of the mobiles rose to around 45 billion minutes.
