Đề: In order to solve traffic problem, gorvenments should tax priviate car owners heavily and use the money to improve public transportation. what are the advantages and disadvantages of such a solution

The development of traffic net in this era pertains to various problems. The question is whether government should tax private car owners in order to  deal with this issue or not. The following is a brief analysis of this measure on both pros and cons.

To put a tax on private cars will bring a significant improvement in the efforts to solve the traffic problems. 1stly, it is easy to notice that the number of cars will plummet. Obviously, streets will be more airy bcz everyone will prefer other private vehicles which are more friendly with the environment such as motorbike, bicycle and electrical bike. They also could move on another vehicle such as public transport at best. This will benefit for both individuals and society. For individuals, they will save a large sum of money due to reducing or stopping the purchase of the car and gasoline. For society, the number of cars is proportional to the air pollution so the atmosphere will be cleaner if governments limit the number of cars. Moreover, the money from taxing will make traffic to be better if they use to invest in public transportation and infrastructure improvements.

In contract, it is necessary to mention about drawbacks of this solution. For individuals, we may not refuse necessity and usefulness of cars in many daily cases, especially in the cases of urgency. For instance, an ill person who is needed to be taken to the hospital immediately and does not have time to wait for taxi or ambulance. And there are many other situation more. For the overall development of the society, putting a high tax on private cars will lead to reduce demand of cars, so it will limit the development of car manufacturing industry. That can cause an imbalance in the industry sector in general.

To conclude, we can see clearly two positive and negative sides of taxing private car owners at a high level. The positive aspect is that the sense of people on the purchase of cars will make the number of cars on the traffic will be reduced and brings many public welfare thanks to money from tax. However, the government should consider before deciding to do because of the negative impact on personal benefits in particular and the decline of the automotive industry sector in general.
