Due to the development and rapid expansion of supermarket in some countries, manu small, local business are unable to compete. Some people think that the closure of local bussiness will bring about the death of local communities.
To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Answer:
The rapid expansion of supermarket in some countries is feard by many, eventually brings about an end to local businesses and then subsequently make them to no longer survive because of the fewer jobs and a little opportunities for them to continue the business. I totally agree with this alarming trend due to the following reasons.
Firstly, I want to mention the influence that supermarkets have on local bussinesses. The rapid expansion of supermarket could force many independent shops to shut down. The supermarket has a huge buildings and enormous parking areas. This allow supermarket attract more attentions also motivation of customers.
For instance, for 7 years in Ha Noi city, the Vincom group has built and developed three Vincom Centers which are commercial centers. The number of customers using the services as well as buying goods in these centers is increasing dramatically. This really make local bussiness be unable to compete with supermarket because they don’t have better marketing strategies like majority of supermarket have had.
People are resort to go shopping in the supermarket because these kinds of shop always have almost thing to sell provided with best services. Although supermarket open job vacancies, the low-class people are incapable of applying because they are lacking of qualifications, skills and experiences. Smart and intelligent people are taken on while unskilled labor is not. Consequently, this leads the incease in unemployment, particularly in local societies.
In conclusion , I claim that the growing of the supermarket across the geographical area of countries seem to bring on some negative impacts upon the local business such as causing the shut down of local shops and hidering the economic development.
