Glance at the graph provided reveals the proportion price changes in average poverty in various cities from 1990 to 1995, and 1996 to 2002 compared with 1989. It is evident that both five cities saw considerable fluctuations in price, with a decline in the first period and arising in the second. By far, the most significant change to take place during these periods was in London.
The cost in average houses in Tokyo and London fell down by some 7% over five years after 1989; in New York, meanwhile, the prices dropped by 5%. In contrast, the changes in both Madrid and Frankfurt were positive and approximately 2%.
With regard to the consequent period, the cost in London jumped to around 12% above the 1989 average. Home buyers in New York and Madrid also had to pay significantly more, with prices rising to around 5%, but house in Tokyo remained cheaper than they were in 1989. The cost of an average home in Madrid rose by a further 2%, while prices in Frankfurt remained stable.
