IELTS Task 1: International Tourist Arrivals

The line graph compares the number of foreign visitors to five areas in the world between 1990 and 2005. Overall, all the regions experienced a period of growth but at different paces and the gap between the two most popular parts, namely North America and Central and Eastern Europe, had narrowed significantly by 2005.

In detail, just over 70 million foreign travellers visited North America in 1990, making this place rank first in terms of international tourist arrivals. This number then rose steadily to 90 million at which it leveled off until 2005. As for Central and Eastern Europe, standing at about 30 million at the beginning of the period, the figure went up rapidly and tripled after 15 years. Although it grew more substantially than the North America figure did, the latter was still marginally ahead of the former in 2005.

In addition, South-East Asia saw a considerable increase from 20 million to slightly over 50 million in the number of foreign visitors during 25 years. Besides, although Sub-Saharan Africa came last in 1990 with approximately 8 million international tourists, it went through a period of gradual rise and soon outstripped South America. In 2005, the figure for Sub-Saharan Africa was 22 million, compared to 18 million of South America.

Theo mình học ở những người thi trước họ sẽ chia Introduction và Overall riêng. Introduction gồm 1 câu paraphrase lại đề bài và overall nhận xét những đặc điểm nổi bật.
với lại ở đoạn cuối bạn có viết "during 25 years" mà mk thấy period có 15 năm à

mình đồng ý với ý kiến của bạn này, nên tách introduction và overall riêng ra, như vậy bố cục của bài viết sẽ sáng ý hơn, phần thân bài bạn viết có kèm theo số liệu mục đích là để làm rõ ràng cho nội dung của phần overall

(1) 70 million foreign travellers thì ok

 

Nếu ko có danh từ đi phía sau: 90 million => 90 millions

(2) "This number then rose steadily to 90 million at which it leveled off until 2005", theo ý kiến của mình bạn nên đưa thêm mốc thời gian 2000 để phán ánh được 90m ở mốc nào và từ đó bắt đầu level off.

Maybe: "This number then rose steadily to 90 millions in 2000 before it leveled off until 2005"

Số 1 thì mình cho rằng chưa chuẩn. Theo những gì mình biết thì millions không đi với số (không có 90 millions, không có quy tắc về việc danh từ đứng sau thì phải dùng 90 millions cả)

theo mình biết thì "million" nếu đứng trước nó là 1 số cụ thể thì không có đuôi "s" đằng sau
