The graph illustrates percentages changes in the number of international graduates in different regions of Canada from 2001 to 2006. Overall, numbers of graduates in most of the regions increased, except for Alberta.

In 2001, Ontario, Newfoundland & Labrador and Manitoba were the regions with the lowest percentages, with 3.1% , 3.7% and 3.8%, respectively. However, by 2006, they’ve nearly doubled their rates: Ontario ended with 6% while the other two both had around 7%.

The next two regions higher in percentages in 2001 were: British Columbia and Alberta. In 2006, while British Columbia witnessed a rocket rise in their rate, as it increased by around 2.19 times, Alberta leveled off as their rate went from 5.8% down to 4.4%.

Top 3 provinces with the highest proportions of international graduates in the beginning were New Brunswick(7%), Nova Scotia(6.5%) and Quebec(6.1%), ranked as listed. In 2006, their rates all rose, to end the survey with 11.7%, 10.5% and 8.5%, with their ranks stayed the same.

In contrast, eventhough New Brunswick maintained the first place, their rate of increasing - 1.67 time, wasn’t as impressive as New Columbia’s, with around 2.19%.
