Đề thi ngày 13/12:
IELTS Writing task 2: Some people think that shops should not be allowed to sell food or drinks that are scientifically proven to be bad for people’s health. Do you agree or disagree?
The question to whether shops should be allowed to offer proven harmfull food and drinks should, according to me be answered by: No, definitely not. This means that I agree with the statement, however, I do not think it is possible to perfectly ban these produce.
First of all because before certain products can be considered as harmfull, we need to have a clear understanding of what is harmfull and what is not. A famous German quote states that: The dosage is what makes the toxin. To understand this quote we need to understand that every chemical and every element is harmfull if taken in a large enough dosage, some are just more toxic than others. Even water becomes harmfull if it is drunk at enormous volumes. If a person drinks such a volume, he can contract water poisening, which can ultimately lead to permanent injury, or the victims death. It’s examples like these that make this statement slightly controversial, but there are more ways to classify products as harmfull. Sigarettes for example are harmfull in the long run, which is proven by the visible effect they have on the lungs, and shown by the statistical analysis of certain kinds of diseases found in its users.
In conclusion, even though I do not agree that food and drinks that are proven to be harmfull should be allowed in shops, it’s hard to classify the products as harmfull and should be done carefully. The ideal view would be that a person can eat whatever they want from shops in acceptable quantities without developing health issues later in life caused by them.
