TOPIC: Some people believe that theoretical subjects should not be taught in universities because most students prefer to study practical subjects. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Over the past few decades, education has never failed to draw public's attention. Some adopt a view that academic subjects should be demolished in universities and instead universities should teach practical subjects. This opinion has my support.
Firstly, it is extremely important to recognize that soft skills are very useful and helpful for students in official environment. In fact, it is common that academic knowledge just only helps students to have basic learnings and know common problems; however, students who are studying practical subjects can recognize particular problems and solve them in the quickest and smartest way. Education in America should be taken as a typical example, in which applies more practical subjects in curriculums of universities and colleges. Therefore, it is reasonable and understandable to say that practical experiences open the doors for students in good companies.
Secondly, as an old saying indicates "practice makes perfect", only when a person practicing everyday will change his or her abilities better. For example, when it comes to jobs needing much experiences about marketing, accounting, and computer programming, employers often give higher weight to old workers with many years of experiences than the new ones. Because employees with a lot of practices can manage their times to deal with difficult problems. That is too hard for the new workers who does not have ant experiences. For this reason, universities are highly recommended to have more practical subjects rather than academic subjetcs.
In conclusion, practical subjects should be widely popular in universities. Not only does it help students familiar with official environment, but also improves their soft skills. Moreover, universities should bring theoritical knowledge into practical subjects to cover more benificial learning.
