A glance at the table provided reveals the comparison of customer expenditure on various categories among several countries in Europa in 2002. It is evident that the majority of money was spent on food, drinks and tobacco.

Looking at the table in detail, it is not surprising that consumers spent most of their money on food, drinks and tobacco. Of these countries, the percentage of consumer expenditure in Turkey was highest, at 32.14%. Accounting for 28.9%, Ireland was the second highest expenditure among five countries. The figures for the remainders – Spain, Italia, Sweden – were considerably lower, with 18.8%, 16.36%, and 15.77%, respectively.

With regard to clothing/footwear and leisure/education, the rate of money for these purposes were relatively low. Among those countries, Italian spent 9% of nation expenditure on clothing and footwear. Other countries, however, consumed somewhere from 5.4 % to 6.5% of their budget. By contrast, Turkey spent 4.3% of the country expenditure for leisure and education activities while the other nations were far lower in this rate.
