There were 100 thousand prisoners both in New Zealand and United States, and approximate 70 thounsand in Ausstralia. After two decade, while imprisonment  in  Great Britain increased up 40 thousand prisoners, the number of prisoners in Australia and New Zealand declined rapidly, both just over 40 thousand. By contrast, imprisonments in both United States and Canada fluctuated sligthly, peaked at nearly 130 thousand and reached a trough of almost 110 thousand prisioners in 1940, respectively.
