The given graph illustrates how much money was spent on books in four separate nations, namely, Germany, France, Italy and Austria from 1995 to 2005.

Overall, it is obvious that people in Germany poured much higher money into books than those of other nations over the 10 – year period. Moreover, all four lines followed the upward trend during the mentioned time.

In 1995, German was the highest book buyers with exactly 80 million US dollars and continued taking the lead with around 97 million in 2005. Meanwhile, Austria accounted for the lowest figure with only 30 million in the beginning. However, this data increased gradually from 40 million in 2001 before soaring and hit a peak of above 70 million in the last year.

The expenses that French paid on books slightly more than that of Italian did in initial year with about 55 million and 50 million, respectively. After some fluctuations, the expenditure of citizens in France raised and reached its highest point in 2005 with approximately 75 million. Similarly, the spending on books saw gradual increase, reaching its top in the final year with more than 60 million.
