The line graph compares four different means of transportation, namely road, water, rail and pipeline in terms of quantity of goods shipment in the UK from 1974 to 2002.

Overall, the amount of goods transported by all four modes of transport increased over the 28-year period. Also, road was the most common used method to ship goods.

In 1974, road accounted for about 70 million tons of goods delivered while the figures for water and rail were much lower and nearly equal, at approximately 38 million tons. At the same point of time, the shipment of goods by pipeline was roughly 5 million tons.

In the period between 1947 and 2002, the UK witnessed an increase in the quantity of goods carried by road to about 88 million tons. Likewise, despite some fluctuations, the transportation of goods by mean of water reached its highest point of about 62 million tons in 2002. Besides, the quantity of goods transferred by rail was higher than by pipeline. The figures were respectively about 40 million tons and 22 million tons.

Generally, I think you did a good job. Keep it up :D

Anw, in my opinion, there is a very little point you should reconsider :).

In the period between 1947 and 2002, the UK witnessed an increase in the quantity of goods carried by road to about 88 million tons. Likewise, despite some fluctuations, the transportation of goods by mean of water (water transport, waterways, water mean may be :D) reached its highest point of about 62 million tons in 2002. Besides, the quantity of goods transferred by rail was higher than by pipeline. The figures were respectively about 40 million tons and 22 million tons.

The given line chart highlights the number of products transferred by road, water, rail along with pipeline over 28-year period since 1974.

Overall, despite of fluctuations, there was an upward trend in the amount of commodity delivered among those kinds of transportation.

Clearly, shifting goods by road was by far for the best choice, accounting for 70 million tonnes. This figure increased with a significant rate to reach a peak at nearly 100 million tonnes - 3 times higher than that of pipeline in the last surveyed year. Apparently, pipeline’s number was the least one, with merely 5 million tonnes in the first point of time.

Interestingly, by 1974 even though water together with rail had similar statistics of approximately 40 million tonnes; the former one went up gradually to just over 60 million tonnes in 2002 whereas the latter one had a varied decrease before reversing as the 1974’s data.

The given chart compares the volume of goods delivered by different ways over the period from 1974 to 2002 in the UK.

The most salient feature is that the total tonnes  of goods increased in all four ways of transportation. However, the most popular mode was road.

Commencing at 70 million tonnes , the volumes of goods delivered by road reached its peak at roughly 100 million tonnes  in 2002 after a slight decrease in 1992 from around 83 million tonnes  to under 80 million tonnes  4 years later. The number goods transported through pipeline accounted for smallest proportion of total quantities of transported goods. This figure for pipeline was 5 million tonnes   in 1974, then grew slowly to reach its plateau of 23 million tonnes  in 1993.

In 1974, railway was the second prevalent mode of transport for delivering goods with around 40 million tonnes  . However, 4 years  later, the transporting by sea reached that level then surpassed railway mode to become the second popular one. The figure for transporting by water increased to 60 million tonnes  in 1986 and then gradually reduced to over 50 million tonnes  before reaching the level of 63 million tonnes . Nevertheless, the figure for railway underwent a fluctuation from 1978 to 1994, then grew again to its initial level of 40 million tonnes  in 1974.
