The given chart below illustrates the percentage of 3 different people namely Men, Women, and Children who ate 5 portions of fruit and vegetables per day in the UK over the period of 8 years from 2001 to 20008.

It is apparent that the figures for Men, Women and Children increased remarkably from 2001 to 2006 the opposite was true for that in 2007 and 2008. Also, the percentage for Children was lowest during the period. 

From 2001 and 2003 the number of Men and Children who ate 5 portions of fruit and vegetables per day in the UK remained unchanged at about  17% and 12% respectively. The year 2004 witnessed an upward trend in the number of Men and Children who ate 5 portions of fruit and vegetables per day in the UK at approximately 20% and 16%. 

The figure for Women undergo a period of a gradual increase to about 29%  in 2004  and then it continued its upward trend in the next 2 years to peak at about 32% in 2006. From 2006 to 2007, the proportion of Women experiened a downward trend approximately at 30% and 28% respctively. There was a remarkably increased to 27% in the number of Men in 2006, prior to experiencing a insignificant increased to 25% in 2008.
