What is your opinion?

It is argued that the amount of money spent on exploring the universe is excessive that it should be utilized for urgent needs including reducing poverty and alleviating global warming. As far as I am concerned, I partly agree with this statement.

On the one hand, space research plays a crucial role in the development of technology. With the information gathered by exploring space, many scientists have come up with technological inventions. A good example of this is the satellite, which is used for weather forecast and map-making. Human can make predictions about the weather, therefore, the likelihood to reduce damage caused by inevitable catastrophic disasters is higher. Moreover, it is believed that the Earth is bombarded with population that it is no longer provide enough space for human. After being explored regarding living factors and conditions, Mars is found to be suitable to be the second home to human.

On the other hand, there is a growing number of problems that needed to be tackled including global warming. It is due to the fact that climate change has an impact on not only humans’ lives but also the habitants of a wide range of species, the expenditure for space exploration should be spent on solutions which can assist to tackle the issue instead. For example, adding more public transports into the traffic system to encourage people exploit bus, which aids to minimize the amount of exhaust fumes contributed to global warming.

In conclusion, there should be an investment in space exploration since people can reap benefits from it including promote technology advancements as well as in the process of addressing problems.
