Thread: Whoever controls the media also controls opinions and attitudes of the people and there is a little can be done to rectify this. Do you agree or disagree?

Nowadays, more and more people are concerned about the influences that the media have on society. However, whether whoever manages the social media can also manage opinions and attitudes of the public is still a controversial issue. In my opinion, I disagree with this idea in light of its paradox.
First of all, it is obvious that manipulating the media to control people’s mindset is unimaginable. This is because human is the prime factor in almost every daily activities. They tend to work independently and no one can control how they work. So, the idea of managing other person by using media, or even other methods, is impossible.
Furthermore, there is no person can control the media. For example, Donald Trump wants to be the next president of the United States of America, even when he is among the richest men in this world. Yet, although being the owner of a lot of TV channels, he can not take advantage of them to earn the public’s trust. Regardless of the fact that he can spend more money on his presidential election campaign, ability is the main factor that decides whether he can succeed or not.
It is also true that the press have a great impact on our life. Of course, there are many people who incur seriously psychological influence, especially celebrities. The proof is that the number of suicides has been increasing recently. That is the reason why using the media to control other people is morally unacceptable.
In summary, no one can use the media to manage the attitudes and opinions of the citizen. Meanwhile, we should not ignore the influences it is generating to our society and try to live meaningfully and happily.
