IELTS Cambridge 15 – Writing Task (Test 2) - IELTS Practice Online (Band 9)

The line graph illustrates how many visitors who travelled to a particular Caribbean island from 2010 to 2017.

Overall, the total number of travellers to this island increased steadily within 7 years of time. Additionally, the figures show that visitors were more likely to spend time the island rather than on cruise ships

Looking more closely at the chart, the number of people opting for staying on the island was three times higher than the equivalent figure of those who chose to stay on cruise ships in 2010. Subsequently, after 2 years, the total number of visitors staying on island still went up at around 1.5 million whereas the similar number for the rest hit the bottom of about 0.25 million.

5 year later, the data changed dramatically as the number of travellers choosing cruise ships rose sharply and reached the peak of approximately 2 millions. On the other hand, the figure of visitors staying on the island fluctuated slightly during the period and finally stood at around 1.5 million in 2017. The total number for both two types of visitors peaked at 3.5 million in this year.
