In today's society, there is a growing trend towards switching occupations. There are some underlying reasons behind this tendency and several practicable remedies may be suggested to cope with the problems caused by the imbalance in the distribution of workers among companies and businesses.
To begin with, the fact that people have the inclination to change their careers could be attributed to a number of reasonable factors. Firstly, financial incentives are the reason for those faced with difficulty making ends meet to support themselves as well as their families. As can be seen, workers who receive a humble salary with their job are likely to find another one which offers them higher rate of pay. Moreover, as a result of financial crisis, there are some professions that are becoming obsolete and menial, preventing people from promoting themselves in the job ladder. Therefore, having a career move, according to some advocates, is an unavoidable option to relieve the monotony of such mundane jobs and seek new career prospects. Last but not least, problems concerning stress at work also account for workers’ decisions on leaving their previous occupations. Apparently, dealing with demanding tasks are common responsibilities of staffs working in large companies, putting them under pressure when invariably racing against the time to meet the deadline and the requirements of the tasks. As a consequence, the number of employees handing in their notice is dramatically on the increase.
However, there are several feasible solutions to the unequal distribution of workforce in companies. Firstly, the managers of such institutions should impose some viable plans to attract applicants to applying for job vacancies in their organizations such as offering higher wages for the jobs available, providing attractive fringe benefits and improving the facilities of the workplace. What is more, reducing the level of stress at work is an absolute necessity to remain staffs. To do this, a stress-free work environment should be created to render the workers comfortable while working. An officer, for example, could work from home using his own laptop instead of being present in the workplace.
In conclusion, there are some primary culprits for the fact that more and more people tend to switch jobs these days. However, should the managers propose some strategies that give workers’ benefits priority, the rate of resignation will be on the decrease.
