These days people in some countries are living in a “thrown-away” society which means they use things in a short time then throw the things away. What are the causes and the impacts this trend can have?

Today, the more developed the countries are, the more throwaway it is. Humans seem to use something one time only and then they never use it again. There are several causes and effects this trend may have on humans’ life.

To begin with, it is obvious that new products with more unique and distinctive styles are continuously sold which attract people to buy. Therefore, people will soon feel boring to use the old things and try to get the new ones while the old ones are left. For example, when there is a more modern kind of smartphones which has more colors and various apps, youngsters are often crazy about it and buy it whereas their phones are still usable. Furthermore, some individuals, especially teenagers, soon get envious of people who have more fascinating things than theirs. Thus, in order to best them and prove themselves, they try to update brand-new dresses in advance, for instance, and purchase them. Thereby, they will become the first ones who have special dresses which is a huge achievement[WU1]  to them.

Consequently, this situation result in some impacts that need considering. First, it makes people waste time. The hours they spend on updating new trends and new products can be used to do more meaningful actions, such as taking care of their parents, doing charity or studying. Hence, if people keep wasting their ages and energy doing trivial things, they will soon regret not contributing something good to life when they get old. Second, people will have no sympathy or respect on workers’ efforts to produce new things for them if they continue buying a thing and throw it away. People will be emotionless which is the bad quality they cannot have when they cooperate with co-workers to create something in a company.

Overall, constantly new things and being competitive in chasing for them cause people’ wasting time and youth. Moreover, people will disrespect and be senseless to others’ efforts.
