Some people think that the best way to increase road safety is to increase the minimum legal age, for driving cars or riding motorbikes.

Nowadays, it is believed that the drivers should be increased the age limit to ensure road safety. Personally, I completely disagree with this idea. This essay would aim to analyze the above-mentioned topic before arriving at a conclusion.

 

First of all, legal driving age should remain the same because the drivers are mentally mature. If they finished their entire standard and compulsory education, they would understand moral principles. For example, in Vietnam, unless citizens here are over 18 years old, they cannot apply a driving lesson. After then, they complete education and pass driving tests, they will have driving skills and receive valid driver’s licenses. Furthermore, they are also acquainted with the rules and regulations such as: carefully driving with a helmet or not running a red light when commuting to reduce traffic accidents.

 

In addition, it is reported that when people are fully adolescent at the definite age, they have powerful physique. Generally, many people are in the limit or older age, they normally have the correct built in order to properly maneuver vehicles. For instance, Vietnamese drivers are also trained reflexes to self-consciously and strictly observe traffic rules. This is the reason why they enable the immediate and proper reactions when encountering accidents. They also admit their faults in accidents and take responsibilities before laws on road traffic for ensuring the safety of themselves and the others.

 

To sum up, it is proven that increasing the minimum legal age for the drivers created more demerits than merits, hence it is advised to be corrected.
