Some people claim that not enough of the waste from homes is recycled. They say that the only way to increase recycling is for governments to make it a legal requirement.

To what extent do you think laws are needed to make people recycle more of their waste?

It is true for many people that the amount of household rubbishes reused is insignificant. They hold a strong believe that authorities need to come up with a forceful legislation in order to rise the rate of recycling. In my own point of view, I agree that trashes from accommodation is not enough and there are many useful regulations should be taken into account by the government.

On the one hand, the minor amount of garbages from homes recycled can be caused by various factors. Firstly, as there are not enough recycled rubbish bins on streets, redundant materials from household are not classified into recycled and non-recycled ones. Therefore, in spite of the fact that trash from houses, apartments can be remarkable, only small amount of it is reused. In addition, many people do not have eco-friendly habits such as recycling, saving energy, they do not pay much attention to sort their trash.

On the other hand, government should establish useful laws to make more waste from homes recycled. Initially, the authorities should put more recycling bins or hire more manual workers in order to classify trash. By this way, rubbish from household can be reused more efficiently. For example, every redundant material in Singapore accommodations are classified, thus Singapore is among top energy-efficient countries. Secondly, more campaigns need to be developed by the government to encourage citizens in recycling. Therefore, more people can have good awareness of the environment. Lastly, it is crucial for the government to establish a legal regulation for householders to separate disposals into two different bins. People who against this law might be fined with a great amount of money. As a result, the improved behavior of citizens might lead to a fresh and clean environment for everyone.

In conclusion, while there are not enough of waste in accommodation recycled, it is crucial for the government to come up with a strict legislation to increase the reuse of disposals.
