A glance at the line graph provided illustrates how the birth rates changed in the USA and China over a period of 80 years from 1920 to 2000.

It is evident that both countries mentioned experienced remarkable variations with the peaks during the 1950s and the lows during the 1940s.
Firstly, beginning at 10 percent in 1920, the chinese birth rate varied considerably to peak at 15 percent in 1935, then it declined dramatically by 10 percent to 5 percent during the 1940s. After that, it saw a big improvement in 1950 with 20 percent. In the rest of the period showed a slight fall.

In the USA, increasing from around 11 percent in 1920, this fiure dropped steeply to just under 5 percent in 1945 after a fluctuation in the first 20 years, This was followed by a rise in 1950 at 15 percent. Then, this figure fell steadily to approximate 7 percent compared to around 2 percent of the chinese rate.
