More and more people are relying on the private car as their major means of transportation, Describe some of the problems over reliance on cars can cause, and suggest at least one possible solution.

In the today world,  possessing a car is just as essential as other fundamental needs. It offers flexibility to human life and work, also users are exposed to a ready access to various destinations. However, some downsides have been identified and need addressing at once.

First,  rampant car use really makes our environment suffer. Vehicle is the main source of urban air pollutants and greenhouse gas. Scientists have proved that one-thirds of all harmful atmosphere contaminants come from the road. Besides, car exhaust contributes strikingly to acid rain, thinner ozone layer and the greenhouse effect, which worsens the already terrible climate change.

Second, the  excessive use of car also has traveling cost. As more and more people switch to private car from public means like bus or smaller vehicle such as bike or electric bike, traveling space is reduced greatly triggering traffic congestion, particularly during rush hours. Another problem relates to road safety given the fact that car accident casualty is radically growing.

To adress these issues,  the most effective measure would be enhancing human awareness about environmental detriments of car via universal education. By that way, people may travel in a less environment- unfriendly way in lieu of using private car. Besides, in the case of reduced mobility, eco-friendly transport means such as moto running on solar energy and so on should be widely accepted.

To conclude,  though car plays an important role in our lives, there are still several environmental and health relating disadvantages pertaining to it. Human should definitely notice about this and take action before everything gets too late.
