Overall, it is clear that the figure saw a general increase in three different groups during 20 years despite some fluctuations. The coast and the lake the mountain were the areas most visited by overseas tourists.

In 1987, there were 40,000 foreigners visit the coast and this trend saw a slight decrease to reach 37,000 visitors in 1992 then went up in the next ten years. Before plunging at a number of 55,000 overseas tourists in 2007, the figure for the coast saw a steady growth to reach the peak of 70,000 people.

By contrast, only 10,000 foreigners visited the lake the mountain in 1987 – four times less common than the area of the coast. This trend increased gradually through 15 years after before reaching the peak of 75,000 overseas visitors in 2002 and then declined after that.

Series 3 overseas visitors numbered 20,000 in 1987 – doubled the number of people who went to the lake the mountain. Then, the figure fluctuated but after 1992, the visits to the lake the mountain were higher than Series 3, By 2007, however; visitor number for Series 3 had increased to a peak of 35,000.
