General Task 1 - Appreciating a restaurant

You and some friends ate a meal at a restaurant to celebrate a special occasion, and you were very pleased with the food and service.

 

Write a letter to the restaurant manager. In your letter

- Give details of your visit to the restaurant

- Explain the reason for the celebration

- Say what was good about the food and the service.

Dear Sir or Madam,

 

I would like to appreciate your restaurant in our visit last Saturday. We were having dinner for my friend’s birthday party there; and the food and service were exceptional.

 

For my friend Helen’s 33th birthday celebration, I knew she had always wanted a Japanese atmosphere with a Western touch. So immediately I called your restaurant and the line operator was very welcoming to reserve our table. It was extremely customer-focused of her to even let us customize the list of Japanese music on that night.

 

The food was exquisite, too. We particularly loved the duck pizza which was the special blend of Western and Asian cuisines. The service team was so caring that they even brought Helen a three-layer cake with her name on it. It was a sweet and pleasant surprise.

 

Please send my commentaries to the chef and the service operator. Everyone in our group was so impressed and we would definitely refer your restaurant to our friends for other occasions.
