Some people believe that school children should not be given homework by their teachers, whereas others argue that homework plays an important role in the education of children. Discuss both of these views and give your own opinion.
It is generally believed that teachers should not give homework exercise to pupil. In my opinion, I still believe that homework have a positive impact on the children’s education due to various reasons.
On the one hand, it is believed that children should not engage school assignment which might lead to some negative consequences. A first and important reason is children normally deal with an excessive load of knowledge at their school as well as constant examinations , which would consume their time considerably. They might suffer from stress if they have obligation to complete the homework that must be done. Another reason is that they should have spare time to learn soft-skills which would be necessary when they grow up or get involved with many activities that they have a passion about.
On the other hand, I agree that homework would act as a powerful tool among children by ensuring them to keep pace with content of their study and build up a responsible attitude towards their learning. In fact, homework is considered as an efficient method to help pupil retain effectively the amount of knowledge they received at school. For example, a primary student who do homework and review some English vocabularies would memorize the words better compared to a student who do not make a revision. Furthermore, thanks to doing homework, children would enhance the self-learning ability and contribute to a good daily habit which keep them away from being addicted to game or overusing social media.
In conclusion, even though studying without homework might be beneficial for children in some cases, I still believe that doing homework after studying is the best way to powerful strengthen the knowledge
