IELTS task 1 - Map - 15/6

Question

the map describes the main changes which took place in Fenton during a 22-year period from 1990. overall, a comparision of the two maps reveals that Frenton experienced a significant modification

    it can be seen that school and library ramain unchanged over time and the hospital underwent a dramatic expansion, whereas the other places were completely different. a number of trees on the south-west corner of the town were all chpped down to create a large open space which was turned into a technopark. SImilarly, the playing fields with trees was replaced by blocks of flats while the bank was demilished to make the way for a restaurant.

  On the other side of the high street, there was a conversion of cafe and park into hotel and golf course. Furthermore, Frenton witnessed the disappearance of the shops in the souteast of the city and the theatre next to the cafe with a new supermarket and cinema taking their places respectively. a further point of development was that there used to be a house in the east side of Frenton but it was replaced by blocks of flats.

In conclusion, the city become more residential area with more accommodation from 1990 to 2012
