The bar chart reveals the money spent on 4 different kinds of games namely mobile phone games, online games, console games and handheld games from 2000 to 2006

imageIt can be seen that three out of four types of games increased their sales over the period with handheld games sale almost doubled in comparison to the remaining.

In 2000, money spent on handheld games was over 11 billion dollars whereas people just spent over a half of that amount in console games. There was no figure for mobile games and online games in this year.

In the next 5 years, handheld games continued to increase in sale from 12 to over 15 billions in 2005 and hit it peak in 2006 at approximately 18 billion dollars. Online games and mobile games became popular throughout the period with the increase by 4 billions by 2005. However, online games surpassed mobile games in popularity and reach its peak at 10 billions in the next year while mobile phone games saw a slight rise. Although console games sale experience slight fluctuation, it was the least popular games in 2006 with the sale of only 3 billion dollars.
