The line graph illustrates the amount of commodities transported in the UK that divided into 4 categories consists of road, water, rail and pipeline during a 28- year period from 1974 to 2002.

Overall, the majority of the commodities transported in the UK had a considerable rose throughtout the period show.

It is apparent that, the pipeline has the lowest amount only occupy 5 million tonnoes, wheares water and rail accounted for 39 and 40 million tonnes respectively, then the road provided on nearly 100 million tonnes in 1974.

From 1990 to 1998, the quantities of both road and rail hit the lowest point at the same period, with 75 and 30 million tonnes respectively. In addition, water declined gradually at 50 million tonnes. By constast, there was a modest grew of approximate 22 million tonnes.
