The number of people owning cars has been  increased remarkably in the recent decade . Whether the government should impose a high tax on this kind of transportation in order to deal with traffic problem remaining controversial. This decision has both upsides and downsides. My essay would dig deeper into this issue.

First of all, it is believed that once governments impose a high tax on private cars, it would benefit to cut down noticeably traffic jam cases escalating, especially big cities and narrow roads. In addition, other fields are invested more thanks to the sum of tax. If the government spend appropriately the money on key fields such as upgrading public transportation, raising insurance and public health, country would develop comprehensive.

On the other hand, this policy might put a massive burden on individual car and others could lose significant motivation to work and buy such luxurious means of transportation. Survey has shown that only after enforcing a high tax on private cars does the number of people using cars reduces rapidly. Besides, this may put business of car corporations on jeopardy as their income from selling and services drops. Furthermore, this solution is not effective in long term. The reason is that it is unreasonable  when establishing a high levy on any merchandise especially the increasing of industrialization, modernization and globalization  of the world economy.

In conclusion,  there are both pros and cons coexisting when the government imposes  a high levy on private cars. It is suggested that it should be balanced between using tax and others tool  to minimize traffic trouble and have a comprehensive development.
