The two diagrams show the process of making cement which is also an essential material in the concrete production.

 

It can be clearly seen that there are more complicated and various steps in producing cement compared to concrete.

 

First, limestones and clay are together crushed until they turn into powder which is then processed with a mixer. At this point, the mixture continues to go through a rotating heater to which the heat is added when the product is almost ready. Lastly, the grinder is prepared to produce the final product – cement, which is then packaged and delivered to make concrete.

 

In contrast, the stages in producing concrete is much easier where there is only one machine needed and four materials are added to: cement (15%), water (10%), sand (25%) and comprised for 50% is the gravel (small stones). The mixer is therefore considerably big and works clockwise to carefully combine and crush the 4 ingredients. (153 words)
