Bài mẫu Band 8.0 cho đề Task 2 tuần này: 30/05/2015 đến từ IPP IELTS

Many people believe that international tourism is a bad thing for their country. What are the reasons? Solutions to change negative attitudes?

In recent years, international tourism has become a growing trend in many disparate parts of the world. However, a hostile attitude towards this trend has emerged amongst local people. Some explanations for this social problem will be put forward, before some possible solutions are drawn.

There are a couple of reasons as to why hostility is felt by local residents against international tourism. The most important reason is that this industry may offset social cohesion in the local community, when a group of people may benefit from providing services for foreign tourists, and become more prosperous than the rest, who are mostly fishermen and farmers. As such income gap is created, people of lower levels of earnings may feel unfair, and the negative attitude towards foreign travellers may prevail. In addition to this reason, foreign visitors may also antagonise the locals because of the cultural differences between these two groups of people. A clear example of this is that a Japanese waiter in a local restaurant may feel dishonoured if an American tourist leaves him a tip, a very common and well-appreciated practice in the US and other countries.

Some measures can be prompted to change the antagonistic attitude of locals towards international tourism. The first important solution is that the authorities may introduce new taxation schemes on tourism-related services, and use this tax money to invest in other industries. By this way, all residents can equally benefit from the rise of international tourism, and social balance in the area is maintained. Besides, there must be free-of-charge cultural-exchange programmes for all people. If such programmes are held, mutual cultural understandings between the locals and the visitors are fortified, and the problem of cultural differences can be mitigated.

To conclude, the fact that local citizens may perceive international travel as an adverse trend can be ascribed to cultural misunderstandings and the loss of social cohesion in the area. This negative perception can be properly addressed by a new tax on services for tourists and cultural-exchange activities.

This is my essay. Thank you in advance for your assessment.

Because of the massive globalization, there is a proliferation of international tourism over the years. Notwithstanding a number of benefits for their nations, most people still have negative attitudes about the international tourism. By interpreting the two sides of that issue and proposing the solution, I will prove that the advantages of international tourism far outweigh its drawbacks.

First of all, through cross-border tourism, people could easily advertise their countries to the world. Be more specific, the people, the traditional cultures, the customs, or the attractions would make the impressions in the eyes of foreign tourists. Furthermore, the international tourism would resolve several economic issues, especially the unemployment. It means a lot of people will have opportunities to be employed in a number of relevant occupations such as tour guide, souvenir retailer, or travel transport. As a consequence, the standard living of those people will be relatively improved.

Nonetheless, there are two major pitfalls resulted to the negative attitudes about the international tourism that need to be intensively considered. Firstly, the outbreak of infectious and contagious diseases is the most serious issue that tourism countries must be cautious. In the history, it has proved that the international tourism made a widespread of H5N1, which was one of the most dangerous viruses for people. Moreover, there is a quantity of cases that people who take advantage of international travel to do illegal activities such as drugs transport or human trafficking. And then, these issues would result in the destabilization and adversely impacted to the community security as a whole.

By identifying those two shortcomings of international tourism, from my perspective, the government should take actions in tourism supervision. For instance, the authorities should impose legislations to strictly administrate the tourist in terms of identification, the history of criminality, or the condition of health, by applying the advanced technology in supporting.

In conclusion, despite of some disadvantages, the benefits that international tourism brings to the country is obviously undeniable. And its advantages would be optimal if successfully resolving those drawbacks.

Transportation witnessed dramatic changes for the past few decades. It leads to the development of tourism across the globe. There are many arguments about the benefits of that. However, I am not completely agrees with them.

It is obvious that tourism is the danger of the natural environment. when travelling, tourist’s means of transport consume large amount of fossil fuel and release emission with toxic gas such as carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide which is very harmful to wild animals and air. Another thing is that the amount of garbage released is limitless containing of plastic bags and others. It needs thousands of years to decay and also very dangerous to wild animals when eaten. A good case in this point is Vung Tau beach in Vietnam. It natural environment and view had been destroyed by huge amount of garbage released. Humanity can become the biggest sources of extinction.

Despite of drawbacks, tourism plays an important role in development of countries. The money earned from that could be used in both education and medical cares. Economics improved by selling souvenirs and local special foods. Traditional cultural activities are introduced to international tourists whichs could raise country’s reputation. Tourism is necessary to any countries because of the amount of money it can bring.

In my opinion, I believe the government should deploy stronger actions to protect the natural environment and animals. I think Singapore is worth to learn due to their success in environment improvement.

In sum, anything has both dark and bright sides. Having said that, the way we do having effects on the natural environment. if it is done sensibly and government have paid more attention. There are only benefits remain.
