  1. The line graph illustrates the figures for air pollutants from three different sources and the total number of air pollutants in the UK between 1990 and 2005. Overall, the number of air pollutants decreased over the years shown. There was a downward trend in both Industry and Households sector in the number of air pollutants, while Transport sector witnessed stability over the surveyed period. In 1990, the figure for air pollutants from the Industry sector sat at nearly 6 million tones. By contrast, the number for Transport and Households share the same position at about 1 million tones. Over the next 6 years, the waste in the air fell sharply to half of the amount. At the same time, the figure for households experienced a gradual decline to half a million tones. In the next half of the time, the pollutants amount of Industry continued to decrease to 2 million tones by 2005. After rising slowly for the next 3 years the pollutants of Households decreased to just right above 0.1 million tones while which of Transport remained stable at 1 million tones
