Many people hold that individuals should stop addressing environmental problems and learn how to accept the situation. Personally, I totally disagree with this view because were the whole world to let such catastrophic disasters perpetuate their destruction, the Earth would be devastated, eventually leading to the collapse of humanity.
There are several solutions taken by large organizations and individuals that can tackle climate change thoroughly. At an international level, governments ought to apply more stringent green standards to goods and impose a levy on polluting imports. By doing this, major importers and exporters are likely to constrain the volume of foreign trades in cars or single-use products, which may act as an efficacious facilitator of the reduction of carbon emissions. Furthermore, leading companies can implement campaigns by making a transition to renewable energy power, thus gradually motivating other firms to follow their steps and stop exploiting natural resources excessively. Moreover, individuals should also boycott coffee shops that are yet to switch to paper cups or straws so that they can help reduce landfills.
Nonetheless, even if people try to live with climate change instead of taking preventive measures, they cannot bear catastrophic disasters caused by climate change such as recurring extreme weather events or pollution. Undoubtedly, climate change cannot recover to its normal state itself so when no solutions are taken, they will have a cumulatively adverse impact on our lives. Consequently, humanity may be entangled in a vicious circle and end up being destroyed. For example, the rise in global temperatures has triggered an increase in the frequency and intensity of precipitation events, making several regions flood-ravaged. As a result, many desperate families in these areas are displaced and still struggling to find a pure source of water despite much aid from the authorities.
In conclusion, I believe that if steps are taken more collectively and thoroughly, the worst-case scenario of climate change can be averted. Therefore, I wholeheartedly disagree with the opinion that people should prioritize living with climate change.
